MMMMMM...... Powdered Doughnuts!

Our friends from church gave us a surprise baby shower last Saturday night. Dan and I thought we were going to the Wallaces for dinner, but there turned out to be several families waiting for us there! We were so blessed by the love they showed to us and their generous gifts for our new little boy overwhelmed Dan and I. These are pictures of Micaiah playing with the balloons we brought home from the party.
He also enjoys playing with the vacuum attachments as you can see!

Kissing Little Brother!

Micaiah often likes to lift Dan's shirt and "tickle" his stomach. It's more like a fierce grab with a few twists! When he thought Mommy might think it's fun, we had to teach him to be gentle with Mommy's belly because there's a baby in there. Now he lifts my shirt and gives my belly a sweet kiss! We can't wait to see him with his new little brother!!

Nesting...

Messin' with Daddy

Dancin' with Mommy

Micaiah didn't take that hat off all day. He wears it wherever we go! When we head out the door I'll say, "Grab your hat." He'll give it a few shakes and place it on his head just so!

My Guys

This picture was taken last winter. When Dan's family came over last month they downloaded it to our computer. I love it!

Rub-A-Dub-Dub!

I was taking a shower when Ci drew the curtain and started messing around. He wasn't hurting anything so I let him be while I finished. I turned my back and in he went, head first, clothes and all. He thought it was the greatest thing!

More than words

I love this Love Song. When I heard it again I couldn't believe how applicable it was to Daniel and I, especially Daniel. A lot of times words aren't enough.

"We must stop setting our sights by the light of each passing ship;
instead we must set our course by the stars."
~George Marshall

This is a quote that came my way at just the right time. How often do we look to others for answers, guidelines and an example by which to live our lives by. Personally, I've spent the past couple years trying to figure things out by looking at the light of passing ships..... "what's generally accepted; what's generally not?..... how far, how much, how little, how conservative, how liberal?..." Caught between legalism and 'anything goes', I've been trying to find the balance through my own understanding. I didn't realize how much until today.
I think God just wants a relationship with us. He's teaching me to bring my questions to Him before looking at what others accept. Everyones story is different and I am uniquely me; and God likes it that way. What he has for others may not be for me and vice versa. Some things may stay questionable and that's okay so long as my communication with Him stays open. We don't need all the answers; we just need Him.

Memorial Day

Mr. Clean & a look at our apartment

Micaiah can't stand clutter. He roams the house picking up anything lying on the floor. It then goes either in his playpen, the kitchen cabinets or the oven drawer. It's so funny to watch! Daniel says he reminds him of me. Especially when Ci takes one last look around, realizes all is cleaned up and then sighs as if saying, "Job well done".

Mesmerized

On Sunday, we put Winnie-the-Pooh in for Micaiah so he would stay in one place while we got ready for church. His favorite part is the song "Hephelumps and Woosels"!
The stuffed lion was handed down from one of my cousins. Ciah's had it since birth and is slowly getting used to it!

17 weeks in the making

New Hairstyle

A couple weeks ago, I was having "one of those days"! Any woman who reads this would understand. Clothes didn't fit right, no matter how I tried I still looked drab, not to mention, I was emotional to boot! About two in the afternoon I got this crazy idea that if I chopped my hair off all would be well. Sounds crazy, but it worked. I called Jamin the next day and said, "The answer to all your problems lies in a different hairstyle!" Now obviously that's not true but, I will say that sometimes you just need a change. It's exciting and afterwards life seems manageable again!

Helping Mommy

Ciah loves to be apart of whatever I am doing. It's so sweet!
His new and favorite chore is to help me unload the dishwasher.
He hands me the silverware one piece at a time.
When we're all finished, he pushes the racks in and shuts the door. Then he claps, feeling very satisfied with himself!
