"We must stop setting our sights by the light of each passing ship;
instead we must set our course by the stars."
~George Marshall

This is a quote that came my way at just the right time. How often do we look to others for answers, guidelines and an example by which to live our lives by. Personally, I've spent the past couple years trying to figure things out by looking at the light of passing ships..... "what's generally accepted; what's generally not?..... how far, how much, how little, how conservative, how liberal?..." Caught between legalism and 'anything goes', I've been trying to find the balance through my own understanding. I didn't realize how much until today.
I think God just wants a relationship with us. He's teaching me to bring my questions to Him before looking at what others accept. Everyones story is different and I am uniquely me; and God likes it that way. What he has for others may not be for me and vice versa. Some things may stay questionable and that's okay so long as my communication with Him stays open. We don't need all the answers; we just need Him.
